On September 1, 2017, Fishbowl employees gathered at the headquarters of Utah Girls Love You (UGLY) in Pleasant Grove to organize donated clothes, repaint part of the building, and perform other bits of service. This was all part of the 9th annual Fishbowl Day of Service.In addition to this, about a dozen Fishbowl employees went over to the Pleasant Grove City offices and did some weeding and yardwork. Fishbowl recently received a note from Deon Giles, the Parks & Recreation Director for Pleasant Grove. It’s a real treat for Fishbowl to receive something like this in recognition of its efforts to serve the community, so we’d like to share it with you.(more…)

Bryan Byrge encouraged everyone to “Live Big.” He lived by those words, and even though he’s no longer with us, we honor his memory by participating in the Live Big Challenge.This year’s Live Big Challenge will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2015.Those that are not interested in biking at all are welcome to come from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be plenty of music, food trucks, and activities for kids. A Memorial Walk around the field will be at noon followed by a raffle and auction. Also, come meet James (The Iron Cowboy) Lawrence and listen to his story of achieving the impossible challenge of completing 50 Iron Man challenges in all 50 states in 50 days in his quest to uplift and inspire. This is the perfect story of how to Live Big!The organizers of this event have something special in store for cyclists. Not only will there be a nice, flat 20-mile course and a 40-mile somewhat mountainous course, but this year there is going to be a 101-mile Epic Loop! That last one will definitely live up to its name.All of these races will begin at the Orem Cemetery Field at approximately 1200 North 800 East in Orem, Utah.(more…)
Fishbowl loves to serve. Every year we devote one day to getting out and serving our local community. We call it our Fishbowl Day of Service.
This Year’s Project
For this year’s project, we will be traveling to Cascade Springs near Sundance and Heber City, Utah, to assist the Forest Service in cleaning out a plant called watercress from the ponds and other areas of the park. We will also do some repair work on park pathways.Fishbowl’s Day of Service usually takes place from late July to early September, but this year we have moved it up to Friday, June 5.(more…)

This past weekend, more than a dozen Fishbowl employees participated in a huge relay bike race that went all the way from Salt Lake City in northern Utah down to St. George at the southwest corner of Utah. The race is appropriately called the Salt to Saint Relay.Utah isn’t exactly known for its flat terrain, and this 425-mile race has a 20,000-foot increase in elevation. It takes a special kind of person to want to take on a challenge like that.(more…)
