Fishbowl’s Beginning
Fifteen years ago, this month, Fishbowl got its start when a small group of software developers created a new inventory management solution for a manufacturer. The manufacturing company’s owner invested in a new company to further develop the inventory management solution, which came to be called Fishbowl.
The company went through many CEOs before finding its current leader: John David King. With decades of experience in sales, King revolutionized Fishbowl’s sales strategy and led his team to success for many years before finally taking the reins as CEO in 2017.
Early in the company’s history, he and his associates realized there was a huge market for inventory software among QuickBooks users. Thus, Fishbowl became one of the first companies to receive Intuit’s Gold Developer Status, which is the highest honor it gives to third-party software developers. This partnership is the key factor that propelled Fishbowl to long-term success, helping it become the top choice of inventory software for QuickBooks users.
