Fishbowl President Among Top 30 Businesswomen to Watch
Fishbowl President Mary Scott was recently honored on Utah Business magazine’s list of the top 30 Women to Watch. The list includes Utah women who are business leaders, philanthropists and innovators. Mary definitely fits that bill.
Mary the Leader
Since joining Fishbowl earlier this year, Mary has been a positive influence on everyone in the company and she’s been working hard to take Fishbowl to new heights.“At Fishbowl, we’re all in the game of work together,” she says in the Utah Business article. “There are many leaders who build financially successful companies and drive revenue at all costs. They lay off people and never know their names. A good leader cares, serves and supports. A great leader lifts people up and brings out the best in everyone around them.”
Mary the Philanthropist
CEO David Williams and Mary recently joined forces to create the CAM Foundation in honor of David’s late son Cameron. The CAM Foundation is a charitable organization sponsored by Fishbowl, Utah Valley University, Certiport and several other companies. It helps underprivileged individuals gain new job skills so they can find better employment and improve their lives.Mary is dedicated to helping local small businesses succeed. She is also a supporter of the Navajo Nation, and she’s constantly looking for ways to help Native Americans thrive.
Mary the Innovator
Mary recognizes the importance of social media in small businesses’ marketing strategy, and she’s empowering her employees to try new things every day. She encourages everyone in Fishbowl to get active on Twitter, Facebook and blogs. Thanks to her, several other writers have contributed to the Fishbowl Inventory Blog, so you can get a few more voices than just mine on here.
Without a doubt, Fishbowl is a stronger company thanks to Mary. Fishbowl is already one of the fastest-growing software companies in Utah, so imagine what it can accomplish with her on its team. The sky’s the limit!
