Fishbowl Hosts Auction to Help Family Adopt Ukraine Girl
Fishbowl will host a fundraising auction at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 to help one of our employees, Spencer Shaw, adopt a girl from Ukraine. Adoption is an expensive and time-consuming process. For Spencer Shaw and his family, it’s been a surprisingly swift process, but it’s still been an expensive one.
Spencer is an account manager at Fishbowl. He and his wife have three children, and they’re hoping to add another soon. They met a 16-year-old girl while she was visiting the United States from Ukraine. Although they had earlier given up on the idea of adopting, they knew they wanted to make this young woman a part of their family the moment they met her. To get the whole heartwarming story, visit Spencer’s blog.
Spencer and his wife hope to travel to Ukraine at the end of February to formalize everything and bring a new daughter home. Unfortunately, they’re struggling to come up with the funds to get there. Luckily, Fishbowl is stepping up to the plate and sponsoring an auction for local residents and businesses to contribute to this wonderful endeavor.
Fishbowl will host the auction at its office at 580 E Technology Avenue Building C, Suite 2500 Orem, UT 84097. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Shaw family to help with the adoption costs.
We invite local businesses, friends and families to attend this event and either donate goods and/or services for auction, or make financial donations. We’ve already received several great products and services to auction off: Jazz/Lakers tickets, a signed Deron Williams jersey, and two one-hour massages from Solace. I’m sure there will be much more to come.
Please help Spencer and his family in this exciting adventure! I hope to report positive news about this auction and Spencer's adoption in a future blog post. Keep coming back to the Fishbowl Inventory Blog for great news like this and the latest updates on inventory management software.
